
Join us for a memorable night of music at the world-renowned Royce Hall as the Upper School Instrumental Music Ensembles from The Harker School take the stage, a national top college prep school from San Jose, California. The Harker School Orchestra and Jazz Band, directed by Jaco Wong and Dave Hart, have previously performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Center, and Essentially Ellington.
The concert program will showcase a wide variety of repertoire, including early jazz by Duke Ellington, modern big band selections, and orchestral works by Missy Mazzoli, Holst, and Gershwin’s iconic An American in Paris. Audiences will also enjoy selections from beloved film scores and video game soundtracks, bringing the energy and excitement of the studio orchestra to the concert stage.
The Harker Orchestra and Jazz Band reflect the school’s strong commitment to artistic excellence, creativity, and collaboration. Students in the Upper School Conservatory program engage with a broad range of musical styles and work with leading artists through masterclasses with world-renowned performers, including Kronos Quartet, Nancy Zhou, Miró Quartet, Donny McCaslin, Taylor Eigsti, and Bria Skonberg.
