PHILIPPINE BALLET presents
SARIMANOK
Sat., Oct 25 at 7PM

Pinagmulan

Philippine Ballet Theatre, the premier ballet company from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, bring a stunning new full-length ballet to UCLA’s Royce Hall.  “Sarimanok”, based on the mythological bird from Filipino Mindanao legend, is PBT’s newest work that tells the love story between a mortal and a moon goddess.  The twenty-plus dance company, led by Ronilo Jaynario, PBT’s Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer, tell this captivating tale as a showcase of Filipino culture and talent.

As with prior performances, the performance will be preceded by the wonderful “Pinagmulan” exhibit of indigenous Philippine textiles and fabrics. But with this exhibit, the extraordinary work of internationally acclaimed, award-winning Philippine fashions designers - Pitoy Moreno, Ban Farrales, Ramon Valera, Auero Alonzo and Christian Espiritu - will be displayed for audiences to see, some for the very first time being shown outside the Philippines.

Tickets are $200, $150, $100, $75 with discounted ticket prices for UCLA students, faculty and staff upon presentation of valid University I.D.  The “Pinagmulan” Philippine textile and fashion exhibit will be open for viewing beginning at 4:00pm.
